Ultimate Berry Smoothie Bowl
LOADED WITH PROTEIN, COLLAGEN & ANTIOXIDANTS
Your whole family will love this protein collagen smoothie bowl recipe. It’s a great alternative to cereal for breakfast and a healthier alternative to ice cream for dessert.
These days protein smoothies shakes don’t cut it for me. There’s something more filling and appetizing when I make a protein infused smoothie bowl instead of a regular smoothie. Sure, both have almost the same ingredients and they both are made in a blender. But, adding the toppings makes all the difference for me.
I don’t know if you know what an Egg Cream is, but back when I was a little kid in NY (and pretty much all over the east coast), restaurants and deli’s would add seltzer to chocolate milk. That was called an Egg Cream, probably because of the foam that would appear on the top, especially when they used those old seltzer bottles with the CO2 cartridge. I know I’m dating myself. When you add a scoop of ice cream to this, it’s called an Ice Cream Soda. That’s how I feel about smoothie bowls. When I blend everything up and pour it into a tall glass, it’s a smoothie. When I pour it into a bowl (and make it a little extra thick) and add toppings, violá, it’s a Smoothie Bowl. And you can eat it with a spoon.
Adding a nice creamy vanilla whey protein powder and collagen makes it satiating. If you’re trying to cut down on carbs, you can use 1/4 of a banana or none at all.
